This video explores the quest for the ideal handheld device to play all Pokémon games. The YouTuber Isaac tests various options, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, ultimately recommending the Retroid Flip 2 as the best overall choice for playing a wide range of Pokémon games across different consoles.
RG34XX (GBA Glory): Excellent for Gen 1-3 Pokémon games, offering a modern screen in a classic form factor. However, it struggles with DS and later generations.
Nintendo 3DS: Plays all mainline Pokémon games up to Sun and Moon. However, the screen quality is a significant drawback, and DS game emulation is poor. Additionally, it doesn't play Pokémon spin-offs.
Pokémon Spin-offs: Games like Pokémon Colosseum, Gale of Darkness, and Pokémon Snap are highlighted as some of the best in the franchise but are not playable on the 3DS.
Retroid Flip 2: The recommended device. Features an OLED screen, superior performance, good controls, and handles Game Boy, GBA, DS, 3DS, GameCube, Wii, and N64 Pokémon games well. Overlays and shaders significantly enhance the visual experience of older games.
ROM Hacks: The Retroid Flip 2 allows access to a wide variety of ROM hacks, providing many additional gameplay experiences.
