This video is a reading and discussion of Chapter 2 from Dave Roberson's book, "The Walk of the Spirit, The Walk of Power." The chapter focuses on Roberson's personal journey to discovering revelation knowledge and the pivotal role of praying in tongues in his spiritual growth. It details his difficult childhood, his journey to faith, and his subsequent transformative experiences.
In Oakridge, Oregon, Roberson awoke in what seemed to be a large auditorium instead of his bedroom. He observed several people in wheelchairs on a platform and an associate pastor leading a service. He sensed this was his meeting. After the service, the associate pastor called for an evangelist, seemingly addressing Roberson. A woman full of the Holy Spirit then appeared, and a powerful outpouring of God's power occurred, leading to the healing of those in wheelchairs and a revival-like atmosphere. The woman's statement, "I don't know why God has given me this kind of ministry...one of you men must have failed," directly impacted Roberson. This vision solidified his call to full-time ministry, despite his feelings of unworthiness, leading him to resign his job and dedicate himself to God's work.
Roberson believed he would not amount to anything due to the negative messages he received throughout his childhood. His grandfather, who raised him, repeatedly told him he would never amount to anything and would be no good, just like his father. This ingrained a deep sense of unworthiness and self-doubt within him, shaping his self-perception and affecting his belief in his potential.
The passage from Jude 20-21 was significant to Roberson's life, as it was open in his Bible during the vision in the auditorium. However, the transformative event was the vision itself, not just the reading of the scripture. The scripture's contents (building up oneself on most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, etc.) reinforced and supported the message and experience of the vision, but the vision itself was the catalyst for his life change.
